Be Renewed
The Be Renewed campaign is a three-year giving initiative which aims to gather resources to update the parts of our campus that need it most. This is an exciting time in the life of our congregation. We hope you will see this campaign and this time of renewal on our campus as a way to go deeper into our mission and a way to see the Holy Spirit at work in your life and through the work of YLPC.

Your Questions, Answered.

Through this campaign, we hope to accomplish three things; renew our first building, replace or repair our organ, and make ourselves more appealing to our neighbors. The renewal of our first building will include reimagining spaces for fellowship and our current and future ministries. Ensuring we have an organ that can support our worship for years to come helps us praise God and sing our alleluias. Changing the way our neighbors see our campus ensures that we are known as the YLPC we truly are - welcoming, friendly, and open.
-
Yes, once we know how much money we have to work with and what every component may cost, the Campus Renewal Committee, along with Session, will work with the architect to establish which parts of the project must be done and which ones will be done if we have enough money.
-
With the current plans, we’re projecting this project to cost around $1.5 million dollars.
-
The new design will incorporate built-in storage solutions that we currently do not have. Plans for ministry specific storage solutions are still being worked through, however there will be ample storage for our current needs as well as room for growth.
-
We always aim to be good stewards of the resources on God's earth. We hope to be as energy efficient and water conscience as we can be. We will know more specifics as the plans and designs progress.
-
We won’t know for sure until we have a sense of the scope of the project. Please be assured, we will work to ensure that the ministries of our church can continue with as little disruption as possible. It might even be fun!
-
In reconfiguring our first building, we will ensure that we have space that is flexible enough to be used in many ways, including as a space for children to meet and babies to be held, should we one day need this again. Think about our youth lounge; this room is used for all kinds of things. That comfortable couch is perfect for a nursing mother or an elderly congregant…it can be used for both!
-
We will not have a construction timeline for some time. We must first set our budget which will happen sometime after Commitment Sunday (June 7). There are many pieces that must fall into place before a timeline can be developed. The Campus Renewal Committee will work with the architect and our construction partners to establish a timeline and this will be communicated to the congregation.

Your commitment card is for the total amount that you plan to give over the three years of this campaign, over and above your regular giving. How and when you fulfill that commitment is entirely up to you. It could be monthly over three years, annually or all at once.
-
Donor confidentiality has always been very important to YLPC and we will ensure that continues throughout this campaign. The only people who will see the commitment cards will be those closest to the project and who have a direct necessity to view them. Those people include Chris Hills (Contributions Secretary), Susan Barrett (Executive Director), and Steve Rice (Project Manager). We will guard your confidentiality, only using the information to properly account for the income and to thank those who choose to give to the campaign.
-
Absolutely! We welcome one-time gifts, as well as contributions distributed over annual, monthly or weekly payments.
-
Most members will choose to give this way. Whether you write a check or arrange for a regular bill pay through your bank account, please be sure to mark the check Campus Renewal so we can correctly identify your contribution.
-
Yes! In fact, this is a great way for you to give. We’ve arranged for direct stock transfers to the church. That way, you can maximize your gift and avoid possible capital gains taxes. Please contact the church office and we will help you arrange the details of your transfer.
