Our Story

1980’s

In the 1980's, the Presbytery of Los Ranchos began a project entitled Mission On Our Doorstep (MOOD). The vision was to start or redevelop 15 congregations within a decade. A demographic study was commissioned that identified locations for planting churches within the presbytery bounds. Yorba Linda was chosen as one of those locations.

In 1989, the presbytery purchased 3.5 acres on the corner of Yorba Linda Boulevard and Palm Avenue.

1990’s

In 1990 a pastor was called and worship services began with about fifteen people attending the first service in a rented hall. Through constant outreach, phone calls and personal invitations, the congregation grew and was chartered on March 15, 1992, with 104 members.

In March 1993 the congregation moved into a newly built facility on the property purchased by the Presbytery of Los Ranchos.

2000’s

A new sanctuary was built in 2002 and dedicated in April of that year.

In 2016, a Pastor Nominating Committee was elected to begin the search for a new pastor. The Rev. Lynn Stone was called to serve the Yorba Linda Presbyterian Church. She began her ministry with us on August 1, 2016. We are a warm and inviting congregation which shares a common thread expressed in our mission statement: Worship God. Equip Disciples. Love and Serve the World.
