Director of Children's Ministries
Sunday School 9:30 a.m.
Each Sunday children (Preschool and above) gather for worship with the entire congregation. After the opening of our worship, they are invited to the front of the church for the Children’s Message. Afterward, they are dismissed to their Sunday School classes. Sunday School concludes after the worship service.
We have a wonderful, loving, trained, and background checked childcare team that you can trust will care for your children. You can be confident that your kids will be safe, secure and in good hands while you visit YLPC.
Nursery (Birth through 3 years old)
Open from 9:15 a.m. until worship is over. Child Care is free. Our nursery is a clean and safe environment where children are cared for as God’s precious gifts. Our nursery is supervised by a staff person who is assisted by volunteers.
Pre-School (3 years through Pre-K)
All preschool aged children attend the worship service with their parents until the end of the children’s message. They will then be dismissed to Sunday School, at which point a parent may sign their child into the preschool room. The children will enjoy play time, a Bible story, music, and other activities, as well as a light snack. Our preschool staff is taught by a rotation of loving volunteers, all of whom have been background checked, and who are excited to teach children about God’s love for them.
Kindergarten through 5th grade – Emmaus Road Sunday School
Based upon Jesus post-resurrection walk with his disciples in Luke 24, the Emmaus Road Sunday School is a rotational model program. The purpose is to:
–Interpret the scriptures so that the children’s hearts will “burn within them”
–Open the children’s eyes to the risen Christ
–Enable each learner to answer Christ’s question, “Who do you say that I am?”
Children are placed in one of three groups according to age. They are led by a “Shepherd” and rotate to a new station each week where they will learn a new activity based on a Biblical story. The same story is told for four weeks in four different ways so that the children may understand the entire scope of each passage. This program is staffed by our Children’s Director and a group of volunteers.
